Presentation of OECD and employment strategy

PNU EU Center invited Mr. Eun-Pyo Hong from OECD and had his lecture about the problems of worldwide unemployment and the efforts and strategies in increasing employment by OECD. He started his lecture with introducing OECD to students. He explained the importance of international coordination of national policies to solve economic and social problems. He gave the students the description of the role and tasks of OECD, why we need international cooperations and how OECD works to solve unemployment problems. He warned the audience of the risk of chronic worldwide mass unemployment and expected it to last for a long time. For young students, he emphasized the importance of advanced knowledge and professional skill in creating new good jobs and advised the audience not to stop studying and learning new knowledge related to his or her career. The students listened carefully and agreed with him in many parts. Some students showed their interest in the jobs in international organizations in Q&A time.
