 Prof. Yi, Chae-Deug, Director of PNU EU Center, has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair for the 2010-2013.

 Launched in 1990, the Jean Monnet Programme was established by the European Union in honor of Jean Monnet, one of the founding fathers of the European Union. The Programme is designed to stimulate excellence in research, teaching and deliberation on European integration in higher education institutions throughout the world. Jean Monnet Chairs are teaching posts with a specialization in European integration studies. Chair holders are in no way restricted in their academic freedom and are encouraged to study the European Union in an independent and critical manner.

 As Jean Monnet Chair in European Studies, Prof. Yi, Chae-Deug will dedicate his complete research and teaching time to issues and courses addressing the European integration project.
